Accredited hydrogeochemical laboratory

Hydrogeochemical Laboratory of the Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology Department at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow performs analysis of water. It is accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation from June 14, 2009 (Certificate No. AB 1050). The competent staff is employed in the laboratory. Employees regularly participate in the national and international conferences, symposia, training, and courses. Laboratory took part in the international projects such as BASELINE – Natural Baseline Quality in European Aquifers. a Basis for Aquifer Management V PR UE. Contract BASELINE No EVK1-CT-1999 00006, 2000–2003) and BRIDGE (Background criteria for the identification of groundwater thresholds. VI PR UE. Contract BRIDGE No SSPI-2004 00 6538, 2005–2006). Between 2009 and 2011, within the 7th EU framework program, the Department of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology implemented the European Union project GENESIS (Groundwater and dependent Ecosystems: NEw Scientific basIS on climate change and land-use impacts for the update of the EU Groundwater Directive. Contract GENESIS No: 226536). The high competence of the laboratory is also confirmed by the positive results of interlaboratory tests in which it regularly participates.
